The economic climate has changed, so how can communications professionals find opportunities in this new environment and what can they do to position themselves for success? Participating on the panel and sharing their insights were:
Rosemary Lomazzo, director of Global Internal Communications at Merck & Co. Prior to joining Merck, Lomazzo worked for AT&T in public relations and employee communications, and also did communications consulting at a mid-sized company. On a pro bono basis, she has provided communications counseling for individuals and mentored college students interested in entering the communications field.
Marlene Bauer Pissott, president and founder of InGroup, Inc., a full-service marketing, communications and public relations firm. Prior to launching InGroup in 1995, she had a successful career in marketing and medical publishing. Pissott recently was a featured speaker in the 2008 Schering-Plough Executive Lecture Series at Fairleigh Dickinson, where she presented "Self-employment Opportunities within the Communications Field."
Danielle DeRobertis, branch manager of The BOSS Group in NJ. At BOSS, DeRobertis is responsible for freelance and full-time placements for companies in all arenas. She also manages a team of account managers, recruiters and executive search recruiters who are experienced in working with mid- to senior-level candidates to place in creative positions.
Topics addressed by the panelists include:
