Trappings—Stories of Women, Power and Clothing
Book signing and author talk

What do you wear that makes you feel powerful? How about the woman next to you in line at the store? What about your mother? What would she put on to reveal her power source to the world? What is power?

These questions inspired “Trappings: Stories of Women, Power, and Clothing.” Authors Tiffany Ludwig and Renee Piechocki undertook a six year journey across the U.S. interviewing more than 500 women and girls, ages four through 92, ranging from office workers to drag-kings, stay-at-home moms to attorneys, students to cowgirls, asking: “What do you wear that makes you feel powerful?”

Distilled down to 61 stories accompanied by 148 photographs, “Trappings” has received recent attention from the local media including the Star Ledger, New Jersey Monthly, Inside Higher Ed, Suburban Essex Magazine and The Hudson Reporter. Join us Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 7:30 to hear Tiffany Ludwig and Renee Piechocki discuss “Trappings: Stories of Women, Power, and Clothing.”
